Erick Tron represents the true spirit of Paulo’s vision and values. He is an exemplary leader, a self-starter with so much energy and passion in his daily work that constantly inspires others. Erick is a quick learner, a team player, someone who never needs to be reminded of his duties or priorities and is always there to support others. As Paulo’s engineering leader (a position that includes maintenance and EHS) in the relatively new Mexico division, Erick truly carries the responsibility of not letting the equipment stop and putting safety first. He is a young talent that will exemplify the best practices of Paulo for years to come and contribute to the growth of the industry.

Erick’s initiative shows in how he is willing to teach all he knows to others, helping them to develop their own self confidence and thus achieve a full cross-trained, safe (and fun) environment. Erick always arrives before the official shift starts and only calls it a day after his direct reports are well connected for the next shift. He never hesitates in offering help and service to any department and will always set an example by jumping into a problem immediately, no matter the complications.

Erick was instrumental in accelerating the plant expansion project of Paulo’s Monterrey, Mexico operation. He successfully managed projects with multiple contractors and corporate team members, setting record speed in the commissioning of complex ferritic nitrocarburizing furnaces. Erick is an expert in pyrometry, instrumentation, and process engineering.

Among other contributions, Erick developed successful bilingual/bicultural work instructions and created a seamless process to develop new equipment using local resources, all during demanding project schedules and in the middle of the COVID-19 crisis.
