Jorge Ramírez – Heat Treat Today 40 Under 40
Jorge Ramírez has been immersed in the heat treatment industry in Mexico for over a decade and has engaged with companies like TRW, ETSA, Associated Springs—always in the areas of metallurgy, laboratory, and quality systems. He holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Metallurgy Chemistry and a master's degree in Corrosion Protection, both obtained in 2009 from the Faculty of Chemistry of the National Autonomous University of México (UNAM). In the last three years, he has been a cornerstone in Nitrex México, the fourth most recently installed heat treatment plant in America by Nitrex under the Heat Treatment Services (HTS) Division.
Jorge began at Nitrex México as quality manager. A short time later, he proved his worth by taking the company to new pastures with new mapping methods and structures, culminating in the recertification under IATF 16949:2016 and fully complying with CQI-9 requirements. He created the Innovation Committee for AMEF and Control Plans, unified with VDA. It was this program that earned Nitrex such an advanced degree of innovation in front of the jury of the most prestigious quality award in the State of Querétaro. Thanks to this program, Nitrex gained the Honorable Mention for Competitiveness within the Querétaro Business Merit Award 2019. Jorge himself went to the gala to receive said recognition, which was delivered from the hands of no less than the State Governor.
Jorge is an IATF lead auditor and quality manager of the AS9100D and Nadcap Certification Program, a member of the Technical Committee for ASM Mexico, a certified instructor, and has given lectures to different industrial associations, the most recent one being on metallurgy and surface hardening (nitriding/nitrocarburizing), by invitation of the State of Mexico Automotive Cluster and the Monterrey Aerospace Cluster.
Finally, it must be said that he is the current captain of the Nitrex soccer team, has been married fourteen years, has three wonderful children, and has managed to lead an active and balanced life between personal and professional matters. Those who are fortunate enough to work either with or for him think he is an ideal nominee for the prestigious list of 40 Under 40 Class of 2021.
