Lindsey Newcomb – Heat Treat Today 40 Under 40
The pandemic required companies to change the way they do business. For Lindsey Newcomb, marketing manager at Advanced Heat Treat Corp. (AHT), this meant finding ways to support the sales team that could no longer travel due to COVID-19 restrictions and utilizing more digital avenues to connect with customers.
During the past year, Lindsey implemented AHT’s first-ever webinar and continues to promote and execute these educational webinars monthly. Lindsey commented, “These 30-minute webinars are a great way for others to conveniently learn about heat treat from experts like Vasko Popovski, PE, Dr. Edward Rolinski, Jake McCann and more.” Webinar topics have included “How to Specify Heat Treatment on POs & Engineering Drawings,” “Understanding Masking in Nitriding,” “All About Induction Hardening,” and more. Lindsey has also been planning AHT’s in-house customer events safely during a pandemic.
Lindsey’s communications background has helped AHT’s growth in technical material content for customers. During the past year, AHT has also seen record-breaking website traffic through Lindsey’s efforts. Lindsey’s marketing expertise has increased AHT’s website traffic year-after-year, with a 45% increase since the pandemic. Quote requests through the website almost doubled in the summer months of 2021. This increase in traffic can be attributed to several projects Lindsey leads, including educational blogs, effective email campaigns and newsletters, social media, and published press releases (thanks Heat Treat Today).
Lindsey, a certified Social Media Strategist, launched AHT’s first YouTube ad campaign during the pandemic, which quickly engaged with viewers and surpassed YouTube benchmarks across the industry. Lindsey is instrumental as an active participant in several internal innovation groups that initiated and branded new services recently, including UltraOx and UltraOx Hyper.
When Lindsey isn’t promoting the heat treat industry, she can be found active in her community and assisting others with marketing. She serves on the Board of Directors for the non-profit Volunteer Center of Cedar Valley. Recently, Lindsey was named one of the “20 Under 40” leaders in Cedar Valley by the local Waterloo Courier. She provides input on course curriculum as a marketing management advisory committee member for Hawkeye Community College, and regularly volunteers with Habitat for Humanity. Lindsey is also in a marketing/manufacturing group called MarketWise and a committee member for the non-profit Community Foundation of Northeast Iowa.
