Vishal Nakhate joined Bodycote as quality engineer on July 13, 2015, and quickly learned the in-house operating software, SSI furnace control and data collection software, and metallurgical lab processes. He soon took on oversight of initial contract review, process writing and leadership of quality inspectors.

After showing routine success in dealing with the array of Bodycote customers and various customer service/quality topics, Vishal was promoted to quality manager in January 2017. Vishal has a long history in working with securing certifications and was the one who oversaw the transition of the Rochester division from TS to IATF16949. He also assisted with other Bodycote transitions, all with great results. Vishal currently leads both the Rochester and the Syracuse divisions of Bodycote, which collectively serve the automotive, aerospace, defense, and automotive industries. Vishal is currently working to secure the AS9100, Nadcap, and IATF16949 certifications for the Syracuse division.

Additionally, Vishal has his own list of certifications: the ASQ Six Sigma Green Belt, as well as a certification from Coursera Course Certificates in Managerial Accounting. Vishal also has experience with AMS 2750, CQI-9, and EMS 14001 standards. Vishal is excited to lead the Quality Department at the Syracuse division to oversee the intensive quench furnaces, vacuum furnaces, solution furnaces, vacuum nitride furnaces, and LPC furnaces.

Vishal received a Bachelor of Technology in Metallurgical Engineering and a bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy and Materials Science from the College of Engineering Pune. Later, he gained his master’s degree in Materials Science and Engineering from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. Vishal is training to serve the aerospace industry, which includes preparing for the Nadcap certification, AMS 2750, and various other AMS standards for the Syracuse division.
