Phil Harris – Heat Treat Today 40 Under 40
Nine years ago, Phil Harris joined Paulo as the marketing manager and was later promoted to marketing director. During this time, Phil graduated from the MTI YES program. He has modernized the company’s website, dramatically expanding the heat treating content available. In fact, under Phil’s guidance, the website went from a fairly barebones, early-2000s style site to having a significant impact on how Paulo is perceived by clients, suppliers, and potential team members. The key to this has been creating meaningful content which has led to content partnerships with various publishers — including Heat Treat Today.
Phil quickly pivoted to a digital marketing strategy when the pandemic suspended many in-person events. Outside of his traditional marketing responsibilities, Phil has also been involved with Paulo’s expansion to Mexico, addition of Hot Isostatic Pressing, and numerous internal strategic initiatives including IT infrastructure, facilities improvements, R&D, and the strategic planning process itself.
With a knack for strategic planning, Phil began building his B2B marketing experience by earning a BSBA from Washinton University in St. Louis (majors in Marketing and Entrepreneurship). His marketing expertise includes branding, website launches, customer portal design and management, lead generation, sales enablement, content creation, and in-person events. His strategic planning skills feature using the Prometheus process to build 3- to 5-year plans and areas of focus to achieve goals. These skills enable Phil to be a well-rounded team player who is able to provide input across many disciplines.
Currently, Phil is leading a cross-functional team to update Paulo’s various office spaces at all five U.S. locations. Phil’s impact on growth, innovative thinking, and deep commitment to driving successful change set him apart as a leader.
