Roberto Torres-Barrios – Heat Treat Today 40 Under 40
Roberto Torres-Barrios started his career at Mattsa Furnace Company during his university studies, working as a trainee engineer at the different production areas from machine workshops, Spare Parts Department, and Manufacturing, to the Service Area. He demonstrated an ability to absorb knowledge in each of the areas in which he was involved. Once Roberto graduated with a degree in Industrial and Systems Engineering from Universidad Politécnica de San Luis Potosí, he fully committed himself to the company and became the head of the Manufacturing Department for the production of heat treat furnaces, leading Mattsa's workforce. He was also quality and productivity manager, and improved the company's processes.
Most recently, Roberto was promoted to field service manager, supervising approximately 60 people in field services with clients and leading spare parts manufacturing at Mattsa Shop. He has participated in many manufacturing, maintenance, and installation projects of heat treat equipment for corporations including American Axle & Manufacturing, Meritor Manufacturing, Timken, Sisamex, Dana Incorporated, and VCST.
