Scott Brady – Heat Treat Today 40 Under 40
Scott Brady has over 15 years of experience selling, designing, engineering, building, repairing, troubleshooting, and installing vacuum furnaces, hot zones, vacuum pumping systems, and control systems.
He started out in the heat treat industry at the age of 17, working part time to build and insulate vacuum furnace hot zones for Mercer Technologies in Southern California. After graduating high school, he stayed on for another year before attending the University of California, Berkeley, soon graduating with degrees in Physics and Applied Mathematics. After graduation, Scott worked as a maintenance technician for an aerospace manufacturer with in-house heat treat in the Southwest.
Eventually, Scott rejoined Mercer Technologies in Indiana as a field service technician before being promoted to manager of Business Development and then finally general manager in 2018. Throughout the past six years in these varied positions, Scott managed sales, service, engineering, production, and personnel for Mercer Technologies.
Scott prides himself on managing a team that delivers solutions to clients in many industries, including defense, aerospace, power generation, automotive, medical, and many others. He demonstrates deep, hands-on knowledge of vacuum heat treating equipment, including wiring, power, plumbing, controls, PLC/HMI, vacuum pumps, and all related ancillary systems. Scott has proven to be a great leader and a true asset to the company.
