“Tasos,” as he is called by his friends and colleagues, is the senior metallurgist for the Riley Power Systems division of Babcock Power, Worcester, Massachusetts. The company has served the power industry for over 100 years and Tasos is involved with manufacturing component parts such as tubing, piping, and heat exchanges for solar, natural gas and coal fired power plants. Born and raised in Athens, Greece, Tasos immigrated to the USA to complete his PhD at Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI). At WPI, Tasos focused on fatigue and fracture of metallic materials used in the automotive and aerospace industries. Tasos was also interviewed on Heat Treat Radio in 2016.
