Matt Watts began his professional career in the United States Air Force as an avionics test station and analysis technician on the B1 Bomber. After transitioning from military to civilian life, Matt went on to earn an Associate of Applied Science, a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Science degrees. While he has held operational and strategic leadership roles in both the public education sector and the power generation industry, Matt has found his true calling within the heat treat industry. As the business development manager for Ultra Electronics-Energy (formerly Furnace Parts, LLC), Matt has managed to position himself and Ultra Electronics-Energy as well-recognized temperature sensor experts within the heat treat industry. Throughout the southern US, he takes an active and collaborative role in helping customers to develop engineered solutions, innovative ideas for cost-saving initiatives and overall product enhancements. Matt is also actively involved in a number of professional organizations that are relative to the heat treat industry. As an active and proud member of MTI, he currently volunteers on the MTI Educational Committee and also holds memberships with IHEA, AIST, and ASM International. In 2018, Matt was nominated and received an Honorable Mention in Heat Treat Today’s 40 under 40.
