Henry Durnwald is currently the general manager (GM) of the Bodycote facility in San Luis Potosi (SLP), Mexico since his promotion to this role on Sept. 1, 2019. His progression and experience include successful work as a process—and later quality—engineer in Michigan. He then faced the challenge of relocating to Silao Guanajuato, Mexico where he was the regional technical manager before moving to SLP to become plant manager and was then promoted to GM.

With his strong leadership and team-building skills, he has created a positive work environment for his team, managed a healthy P&L and has developed strong customer relationships at different functional levels within customers’ organizations.

Henry has consistently led improvements in quality and cost through execution of thoughtful and well-organized projects. He leads his teams with data and provides learning and teaching opportunities as he proceeds. The facilities Henry has managed have consistently performed well in the critical area of safety and employee welfare, this being a high priority of the company.

Henry is a graduate of Michigan Technological University with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical engineering and material science engineering.
