A group of aerospace firms or suppliers from the UK’s Midlands, including a heat treating company, recently traveled to Rzeszow, Poland, which has the largest aerospace cluster within the country, on a trade mission to tour local factories and explore potential partnerships.
Andrew Mair, chief executive, Midlands Aerospace Alliance
The Midlands Aerospace Alliance, in conjunction with Bank Zachodni WBK (part of Santander Group), Aviation Valley Association (Poland’s largest aerospace cluster association) and Altios International (the global advisory firm) in Poland, organized the exploratory trip to visit with buyers and distributors in Poland interested in importing product or services or creating joint ventures.
Representatives from Wallwork Heat Treatment Ltd participated on the trip, which included visits to four factories: Pratt and Whitney Rzeszow, Bodycote Polska Aerospace Defence and Energy, Aero Gearbox International, and Poeton Polska.
“Working closely with Santander and Aviation Valley our delegation was able to see first-hand–and meet the key people behind–the tremendous investments currently being made in the aerospace industry in southeastern Poland,” said Andrew Mair, chief executive, Midlands Aerospace Alliance.
