Joe Fignar is a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a Bachelor of Science in materials science and engineering and is expecting his master's degree in engineering management by December 2020. He holds five years of experience in the heat treat industry. Joe worked on the ASM Heat Treating Society Board of Directors where he brought a wealth of information from a younger generation's perspective.

His current position at Honda is to oversee and improve the endothermic gas carburizing process with hot oil quenching for various transmission gears. Joe's knowledge and understanding of thermal processing and his desire for process improvements to manufacture the best possible parts is remarkable. He is the younger generation and certainly an asset to the heat treatment industry.
