Chase Gibbs' impact at Advanced Heat Treat Corp. (AHT) extends far beyond his typical job responsibilities and includes cross-departmental innovation, even teaching himself new computer programs. Beginning in 2007 and working in several operational roles, Chase has personified AHT’s core value of teamwork. Other shifts and departments often come to him for metallurgical advice. Other AHT locations also come to him for idea generation and support. Even though Chase’s department is furnaces (carburizing, carbonitriding, etc.), he’s been involved in projects related to induction hardening, cryogenics, shipping and receiving, and more, impacting more than just the team of eight he manages at AHT’s Burton Ave. location in Waterloo, Iowa.

Over the past couple of years, Chase has helped to implement a formal 6S program across all four AHT locations, he’s standardized tool boards and tooling areas for better organization, and he has researched and analyzed new equipment. His actions have resulted in improved efficiency, cost savings, and a more productive and safe environment for employees. Aside from his regular operational duties, Chase has also assisted the Information Technology department. Teaching himself how to use software like Crystal Reports, he built new reports that guide business decisions and improve existing processes for added business insight and process improvement. Chase is a great supervisor, a great resource for customers, and all-around a great guy who cares about improving Advanced Heat Treat Corp. and the services they provide.
